Overview
Guwahati College- one of the premier College of higher learning of Gauhati University. Started in 1964,the classes were first held in borrowed premises of the Mohurris’ Training Institute at Chandmari with only seventy five students site at Bamunimaidan, Guwahati. It was not long before the yeoman’s service provided by the college yielded results and with immense demand from the student community coupled with generous public response, the College was able to start a day section.
GUWAHATI COLLEGE now stands as a full- fledged institution of higher learning equipped with the latest in educational technology. With financial assistance from the U.G.C. and the State Government, the College at present offers Higher Secondary and Degree Courses in three streams: Arts, Science and Commerce.
