Gauhati University Hospital

Gauhati University Hospital is the primary health-care facility of Gauhati University. Besides the services it provides to the university community, the GU Hospital remains a primary source of the health-care facility to the neighboring regions around the university campus.

It carries out the OPD services as well as 24 hours Emergency Services and is equipped with ambulances, doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff.

OPD Service

09:00 Hours – 12:00 Hours (Everyday)

16:00 Hours – 19:00 Hours (Everyday except Sundays)

Emergency Service

24 X 7 Emergency Service is provided by the medical officers along with paramedic staff. Emeregency service is equipped wuth Oxygen Administration, Nebulizer, IV Drip Infusion, Stretcher, Wheel Chair, Emergency Medicinices etc.

Ambulance Service

24 X 7 Ambulance Service is provided to pick up and drop within 2 km radius of the University for GU Community Patients and if the need arises, Transfer Service id also provided to the patient to the nearest referral centers.

Drugs

The drugs for common ailments are provided free of cost to GU patients, subject to availability.

Nursing Care

Dressing, Parenteral Injection, and Treatment of Minor Injuries are available.

Day Care Service

Day Care Observatory Treatment is provided to the needy patients.

Hospital Limitations

  • The GU Hospital is providing the primary health-care facilities to the attending patients. Patients who need hospitalisation, special investigation with specialists are referred to the secondary or tertiary care hospitals. The GU Hospital does not provide laboratory and other radiological investigation.
  • The GU Hospital doe not provide monitoring facilities for vital parameters needing equipment’s such as cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter etc.
  • Obstetrical and Gynaecological Services are not provided.
  • The GU Hospital does not provide routine immunization to children.

    Very first Ambulance facility , very poor treatment . I got infected and injured portion turned very bad condition after take treatment here ,.. MMC is very good enough

    3 star for good ambulance service and 1 more star for avaibility of doctors whenever needed…although treatment is not so good…..

    I can’t say great, awesome or super , I just can say “ok” because as per other university’s hospital in this hospital there is nothing , here you will not get any emergency treatment, there is no advanced equipment for treatment or for examine, in this hospital there a lot to be a great hospital , if you have just cough , flu or fever then you can go there but for other treatment I will not suggest anyone
